Touring XL Review

Home » Touring XL Review
The first customer review is in for the Touring XL – and it’s a winning one!

Beth Starkey from Cheshire snapped up the first Touring XL and had her debut outing in it at the weekend. Competing in the BE100 Open at Kelsall Hill, Beth earned her first British Eventing WIN, onboard the talented Monbeg Horizon.

Beth commented on how much room the trailer offers and it’s great having everything all under one roof. “My truck has never looked this tidy going to an event before, or after!”.
Regarding the towing, Beth recalled “When we went to look at the trailer my husband commented on the ‘decent running gear’. The trailer tows like a dream and Louie used to stamp during transit, but he travelled perfectly. And for once, he stood good as gold while we waited for the prize giving”.  The spaciousness and usability of the Touring XL was another major factor in Beth’s decision to purchase it. “He’s a big horse so the extra headroom and space in the Touring XL was a big plus for us. Having unloaded twice now, the front ramp is much nicer to walk off. I’m not sure if it’s the angle or slightly lower ramp, but he walked straight out whereas he used to trip off the higher ramp of our old trailer*.”

Although the weather over the weekend was particularly damp, it didn’t affect Beth’s preparations. “It was chucking it down when we arrived, but thankfully due to the ample space and internal access to the tack room, I was able to tack up easily inside the trailer as the front partition swings almost 90 degrees to the side. The Tack Room is very spacious and my close contact and dressage saddles both fitted in with ample room for saddlepads. Having all my grooming equipment and organised in one allocated space made life so much easier.”

Whilst waiting to go XC, one of the Touring XL’s features found an additional use. ” The lifting top door above the front ramp stopped the rain driving into the trailer which kept everything dry. It also made a perfect cover to stand underneath whilst watching the XC action from the ramp”.
The trailer has had a good clean ready for our next competition. It was so easy to wash out, and the barn door was a game changer as we just swung it open and brushed the hay and muck straight into the wheelbarrow”.

Beth concluded she’s delighted with her Touring XL.  “I’ve competed on and off at BE since 2007 and this is my first win, in my first trip out in the Touring XL – hopefully it’s a lucky one and the red rosettes keep coming!”

Certainly sounds like a great start, good luck for your next competition and thanks for your Touring XL review.
